在曼谷各大百貨公司的名牌女士內衣部, 總有來自香港的女士們手持double digit數量的Bra等候試身. 不知道當地人會否以為香港無blah賣呢?

ps據聞當地的Bra較便宜, 卻有說質素不盡相同... 自己無親身體驗比較, 無從comment.

最近身邊的親朋不約而同出遊泰國. 家裏也相當喜歡泰菜(well, 其實只要是好吃的"菜"), 最常光顧的一家泰菜館是在九龍城啟德道的"泰地道" (前金不換). 個人認為它的水準(性價比?)相當不俗, 推介菜式... hehe 可致電本人查詢. 舉個例, 常見得有點濫的豬頸肉在這裏是炭燒的, 食味質感遠勝坊間很多只是"煎炸"的豬頸肉. 又例如香葉伴鮮魷的魷魚, 鮮味爽脆柔軟集於一身, 醬汁也出色, 不是魷魚擁躉都會欣賞. 另外冰類飲品十分足料清新, 不會只是"冰""糖"水. 還有其他...

自己人

帶s到日式炭火爐端燒, 雖然已訂了枱(7時), 也雖然6時40分已到達, 但小小店面的獨立枱已坐滿, 只剩餘爐邊bar位. 剛"懶"瀟灑的邊說"好!"邊在bar坐下來, 立刻就感到炭火熱力四射喊着要換枱. 環顧四周, 卻沒有任何埋單的跡象.
正在喃喃自語依依哦哦之際, 忽聞背後男士以純正廣東話說:
"係咪香港人? 坐過來吧..." 廣東話男士跟兩位金髪普通話佳麗坐4人枱.
還未來得及反應, 他又說:
"我們快走了. 你們先坐過來, 不然給那些北方人搶先了..."
s跟我當然當仁不讓, 連聲兩文三語謝謝唔該曬加Thank you.

For some reasons, couldn't sleep very well. Watching MBL NY Yankees vs NY Mets. Found it pretty exciting. And I think the tension starts with the pitcher's and batter's little psychology game.

Raisin Cranberry

Tried the Raisin Cranberry bread from Little Mermaid, pretty impressed.
Applaud for the subtle scent of wheat, mild chewyness and just-right-humid of dough, and the not so sweet dried cranberry and raisin.
Another good piece of bread comes from A-1 / Backenheim bakery (incl some other names that I could not remember, but you definitely can identify them with the same products and style) - Walnut Raisin bread.
Disclaimer: I am not a big fan of raisin, indeed not even a fan. Most of the time, I found them too sweet, too far away from grape, and discouraged by those little smuts when you chew them. Yet, these 2 bakeries offer you high quality raisins that I haven't observed these problems and could find the dried fruits fueling my eating pleasure.

晚飯後跟媽到滿記吃甜品.
媽點了杏仁茶加湯圓(仍然不明白為何是杏仁"茶"), 我點了簡簡單單的紅豆沙, 共銀34大洋.
細數之下, 發覺小小的鋪面大約可坐55位顧客, 而樓面伙計有8位(另加1位掌櫃收銀) - 樓面顧客比約為1比7, 相當駭人. 想除了6+星級天價食府及媽咪愛心私房菜以外, 食肆多不能支持這個比例. 試想想每個星期日的茶樓實景 - 伙計們若非不知踪影, 就是頭昏轉向得打搞不得.
真是一門食過翻尋味的甜蜜生意...

一覺醒來... 為何還是1號風球? 哦..."可能""考慮"在未來數小時改掛3號.
肚子有點餓, 想起昨天在Pantry (www.pantry.com.hk) 的早餐, 就更餓了. 可惜晨早開call, 不然風球下在Pantry嘆早餐嘆"風"景, 應有看頭.

食物和酒, 都很美味.
看照片, 也談起舊人和事, 從小學到中學到大學同學.
飲飽食醉, 在沙發小睡片刻(不受控地), 兩次之多.
老老友和honey, 還是很逗趣, 賞心悅目.

回家路上, 清風送爽. 下次再來.

星期四晚飯後與女及BF在酒店房間吹水, 期間服務員按鈴問需不需要turn down服務, 當然婉拒, 卻貪得無厭的要了額外的3瓶水為吹水助慶. 真不錯.

CX60週年, 有一系列"限量精品"推出. 因為對其中一項有丁點興趣但"兜售"方式不詳, 於是發了電郵詢問. 自第一封電郵於3月10日寄出, 前前後後往來3, 4回吧, 總是得到那些全無"増值"的回覆, 實在很生氣. 我的語氣已由"查詢"加強力度為"投訴", 但仍不得要領 - 可能我還是太客氣, 或是我這些小薯乘客不值得重視.
其實幾經思量後, 已決定不會買這件"精品", 但實在不能接受這樣的服務水準.
且看事情會如何發展.

回到酒店房間, 發現"贈飲"的兩瓶水沒有如常出現, 於是通知HouseKeeping送來.
10分鐘後, 打了BowTie身穿體服的服務員手持銀盤送來了3支水.
真喜出望外. (當然不是因為了打Bow服務員 - 雖然亦屬意料之外)

今夕何夕

經過幾轉長週末, pro-long長週末, 公衆假期, 黃金週, 出差這樣那樣... 對今夕是何夕開始有點混淆 -
今早一覺醒來, 想起明天要飛, 便盤算着要準備什麼, 開什麼會, 安排怎樣的日程... 當時的"當下"是星期日.
自煮多士朱奶早餐, 打點10點鐘tennis的裝備, 盤算着之後要很趕2點鐘場的MI:III, 還有要shopping的東西及路線... 當時的"當下"是星期六.
吃着多士朱奶, 跟媽聊起爸的trip呀, 自助餐呀, 要不要叫醒bean呀, 如果處理牛油刀上剩下的牛油果醬呀 等無里瑣事時... 當時的"當下"是有星期六有星期日...
直到我腦筋突然停留在星期日, 並說明天要飛時, 媽就疑惑的說: 今天是星期六吓話...!?
係噃... 好在還有明天!

Banana

Had a Banana Mocha Frappe today at S - not my cup of tea - (1) they don't use real banana, only banana essence!! (2) too sweet. Yet, the worst, most disappointing banana drink that I've ever had was the Banana Smoothie at RT. Don't try unless you really enjoy cough syrup (well, for whatever reason) and don't care if the syrup is flavoured with whatever it claims it is or not.

For those of you who like banana drinks (and coffee), highly recommend Barrista's Iced Banana Coffee. Simplicity is beauty - ice blended fresh whole banana, milk and espresso. Yum!!

Happy Hour

Went to happy hour with 429 oldoldpal & honey. Intended to have coffee yet the coffee places were either too aggressive (told us to wait for 15/20min and introducing pizza and dinner in a machine gun like manner) or too boring (u know those S or P shops). We at last settled down in a pub and had tiny cocktails.

Have long reckon that cocktails with or without fancy names are something very adventurous. Again, didn't disappoint me this time. Just looked at the clear liquid and couldn't figure out what the h___ is this "Fruit Wonder"?? simply cough syrup flavored 100% alcohol 消毒酒精. and, after repeated our drink order for 3 times to 3 different staff, buddies got a greenish Angel Blue (which was ok with a little green apple flavour) and a jadish Jade (forgot what taste was it). The "spicy" chicken wings (mid-joints) were good though not spciy at all.

I would prompt the management of the pub to do more training on their staff, at least to answer these basic questions -
~ Cocktails (alcoholic and/or non) enjoy happy hour price or not?
~ How many pieces for the Spicy Chicken Wing (without "s") and Swiss Chicken Wing (not on menu)? Swiss Chicken Wings are mid-joints or whole wings? If there are 3 people but 4 pieces of wing, should they give out 3 sets of plate & fork or 4?
~ Can pay with credit/debit cards? Which one(s)?

btw, walked pass the Miramar basement's Shooters52 and found it closed (unless it only happened to "closed" yesterday). down one place for LIIT, though a doesn't visit that one.

清兵背上的「兵」和「勇」的區別【看中國2006年02月10日報道】
大家經常在有關清朝的書籍，文章或影視劇上看到「兵」和「勇」二字，特別是電影，電視劇上整裝待發的清軍隊伍裡，通常背上貼著這兩個字。好像這使人容易聯想到「勇」就是特種兵,「兵」就是一般軍人。實事上不是這麼回事。
史載「兵」是清代國家的常備武裝力量，包括八旗軍和綠營軍。八旗軍為滿兵，綠營兵則是為彌補滿軍的不足又建立的漢人組成的漢兵。這種軍隊以綠旗為標誌，以營為建制單位，故稱綠營兵，也叫綠旗兵，簡稱營兵。八旗軍同綠營兵雖然使命相同，都是保家衛國，但主次不同，朝廷倚重不同。按定制：八旗兵大部分衛戌京師，為國家精銳部隊，掌管京師安全；綠營兵則遍佈全國各地，數量要比八旗兵多幾倍乃至幾十倍。通常影視劇上浩浩蕩蕩的大軍都是綠營兵。順治以後綠營兵日漸取代八旗兵的主要地位。康熙年間大清朝建立不久，力圖以和為貴，於是軍備廢弛，萎靡不振。八旗兵丁一勞永逸，長期處於養尊處優的地位，以至於三藩起事臨陣磨槍亦難振軍威，武力.，故.三藩之功實屬綠營兵。雍正登基後，立志彰顯滿軍尚武精神，乃三令五申「八旗為滿洲根本」，大動干戈，整軍治軍，終於使得士氣大振，維護了國家統治。
史載「勇」也是兵的一種。市雍正，乾隆朝後遇有戰事，若八旗和綠營兵不足用，則就地取材臨時招募的軍隊，戰事完了後立即解散，不是國家正式的軍隊，即就是戰事有功的也不久留久用。直到清末太平天國時，曾國藩以團練起家，才改非正式的鄉勇為練勇（即湘軍），定兵制，發餉糧，稱為勇營。從此，「勇」基本代替了「兵」成為國家的正規軍主力。

週四首航

第一次乘星期四晚機回港, 經歷不甚愉快 -
~ 21:30起飛, 較星期五的遲30分鐘, 原本估計要差不多01:45才到家... 想想都累
~ 早上online check-in, 發現前面的compartment 100% 滿座, 後面的卻只有翏翏十數人, 好生奇怪. t靈光一閃, 想起這班機可能就是他曾經搭過的... Cargo flight
~ Cargo flight因要平衡機身重量, 前面的compartment 不能載客, 我們都要坐到後面的compartment
~ 引擎特別吵
~ 窗邊的燈間歇性一整排的快速閃動. 幸好我坐在中間的4-seater, 才不致太眼花
~ Video的聲音特別"拆", 差不多聽不到說什麼(當然可能是自己英文水準的問題...), 還會間歇性失聲
~ 晚餐前沒有花生
~ 晚餐時沒有濕紙巾
~ 晚餐後沒有雪糕
~ 機程特別長. 較平常多飛20分鐘.
~ 好戲在後頭. 為了"遷就"主角cargo, 飛機要停在cargo terminal (HACTL) 那邊. 長着腿的我們, 就要提着行李走下機, 轉乘大巴士到passengers' terminal. 大巴士擁擠不在話下, 途中還要經過一個像check point的關卡, 有人不知幹嗎上上落落, 又停了數分鐘... 這程巴士終於花了15分鐘
~ 終於終於02:10抵家

ps. 回看一下, 總不能太negative, 決心要發掘一件"好事" - 飛機着陸時一點bumpy都沒有. 可能是中置cargo起了穩定作用吧...
