多久了

昨天午飯時, 老頂的老頂問我來了這些日子覺得怎樣.
然後她問我來了多久了, 我說(原來已經!)3個多月了.
她說原來這麼短時間(!?), 她感覺上我來了很久了.

究竟是好事還是壞事?

沉澱

個多星期以來, 各方好友人物都少不免'問候'一下我的新地埗如何如何.
臨別之前是 hectic 的, 說得難聽一點可能就是(其他人)'唔見棺材唔流眼淚', requests 蜂擁而至, 最後一個 presentation 安排到 last day 的 1630, 還有之後跟 BJ 老頂的 'last call'. 終於 notebook 也來不及交還, 還差點進不了 office, 因為我的 badge 在 office hour 後已經失效, 幸好有 buddies 相伴.
在新環境只花了兩天, 暫時跟 expectation 還是差不多, 當然 moments of truth (reality shock?) 也不缺.
近來無論是大環境還是小圈子都有不少的 news & changes... 實在需要沉澱一下.
再說.

Settled

Finally, got hold of boss at his homely breakfast table somewhere out there in the CDT zone.
He indeed sounded quite upset. Though he could have expected with the messages received so far.
But I meant it - that I would prefer taking that to him in person, before the texts and formalities.
Not that it would have made a difference in the outcome, I believe.
Dates settled.
So...
I'm leaving, the BigBlue...
... once so glue-ly, not so clue-ly, not yet blue-ly, but too truly...

As boss said, it seems just yesterday when we had the Pantry opening party. I'm so proud to be witnessing its journey, having the chances to mess up the counter, the kitchen and even the POS; and most importantly taking advantages of the great mission and ideas of ES and AC. I told Bean that today is last day for Pantry but forgot to mention that it would serve only till lunch. Turn out she's too busy to go down herself so she ordered delivery. It was 3-ish almost 4 and a lady in suit came to deliver. Just wonder who this lady friend is - would be a farewelling friend who helped one of Pantry's last delivery?

Seeya Ritz

時光飛逝, 1月過去. 中環的 Ritz-Carlton已關門大吉. 大吉者, 將會搬過海, 2009 年ICC那邊廂再戰江湖.
其實近年已經很少'幫襯', 對它還是有份難以言喻的感情, 畢竟它(另一個是皇后碼頭...)見證了好些年少輕狂的日子.
這個 Chater Lounge, 簡直'賣飛佛'. 永遠高水準的 live music, 舒適的沙發 cushion, 濃淡得宜的橄欖, 中西合璧的擺設裝潢, '通常'比較斯文的顧客, 仲有- 雪茄吧. 咁, 人生第一支雪茄無理由係喺街邊度 'cher' 架, 怕且點都點唔着啦.

可惜上一次去 Chater Lounge, 窗外某女藝人床上用品的"景致"大煞了我們的風景, 實屬憾事.

日本餐廳榮川的 early lunch special, 也曾慰藉了我們無數工作天. 早幾幾年 (even SARS前) 經濟不算特別好, 晚餐時段也有specials, 每天都有不同的酒菜半價. 還記得逢星期一, 二晚是刺身及壽司半價; 而週末則是清酒啤酒. 間中都會和媽去小吃一餐.

Toscana 馳名的白松露未有機會吃過, 那晚和 p 臨別秋波卻終於發現原來至愛是...
最最最左邊的這個醋, 用來吃麵包. 自問不是'汁人', 不會胡亂輕奮. 但敢說這是自己吃過之中最好的. 按捺不住為食, 明查而非暗訪得知真身是一支的 Balsamico di Reggio Emilia No.4 的 4年醋. Toscana 可代訂, 大約HK$1,000左右, 750ml, 姐姐話. 都係諗諗諗諗諗先.
其實他們另有一支25年醋, 用來煮餸, 或配 cheese同吃. 當晚我們點的其中一個頭盤, 就用了這個25年. 售價不詳.

點了4-course (Black) Truffle set, 4-course a la carte. 最出色除了醋外, 就是 primo risotto 的 red shrimp, 過場清味蕾的 cherry tomato. 果然見微知著.
"小四"單尾. 來得太遲, 或是自己太心急, 來之前已把 espresso 喝掉了.

Surf and Turf on Its Own

Was planning to try the 'yellow-oil' crab set at West Villa but W was in Central and couldn't leave that soon. so...
Food has improved, especially the steak, catching up with the top dogs. Lobsters as good as usual.
Service still has muccchhhhhhhhhh room for improvement though - simply mis-aligned with the price tag.

One of the best baguet in town. And one of the least sour sourdough in town, which is my taste. The strawberry cream butter is awesome (L). The espresso-sized chicken consommé not in picture. Bostonian Salad... tastes like... greens (R).

Chargrilled live lobster. Original favor... very fresh and bouncy and tender. See, the roe - to remorse the loss of yellow-oil crab (R). (oh well, indeed not that regret given that I've had the crab last month which is forgettable)

US rib. A much improved dish.

Last but not least, dress code. aaarrrrr...

去飲, 除了為一對新人贈興外, 當然就是跟老友們吹吹水.
昨夜的婚宴, 新娘子sis-man是老同學, 靚靚不在話下, 氣氛也十分歡愉輕鬆, 選曲及音樂編排應記一功(實在好怕那些溫吞吞曖曖昧的背景音樂, dim燈當做浪漫個隻). 換了4套晚裝(湖水藍, 白, 紅, 綠)之餘也跟新郎滿場飛招呼賓客, 完全沒有欺場. 席間還有新人的大學同學, band-mate等助慶, 有accordion有guitar有彈有唱, 當中不乏水準超卓的驚喜. 可惜新娘沒有露一手(...除了一臂的金飾).
是夜新娘笑着落了幾次淚, 開心的淚. 恭喜恭喜!

跟sq 和sym 交換情報, shortlist了要看要聽的, 有些實在已onlist 忱誤了很久 -
